DesignBurst is a web design studio led by me, Marianna. I am an award-winning product designer turned digital design specialist. I am 20 years practicing as a professional designer and I still love it as much as day one!

The Origin Story
My background is in product design. I graduated top of my class with awards in Design and Engineering. I began my career creating products for businesses across Europe and the US. I worked on projects from the first idea to coordinating manufacture in Asia. This taught me how to take a concept from vision to reality. My early work taught me the value of blending aesthetics, engineering, and marketing. Designing with both form and function in mind. I also learned how to work with people from many different cultures. I value open-minded collaboration.
Design is for all, every website should be accessible.
I have always been passionate about accessibility in design. In product design, I followed universal design principles. This made new products usable for everyone. I carried these same ideas into my website design work. Applying accessibility guidelines to ensure all users can enjoy every website.

Pushing for support for local creative businesses
In the early days of DesignBurst, most projects were with international businesses. I tried to help Irish businesses but hit some roadblocks. Ireland is full of creativity with a strong culture of design and innovation. Unlike our European neighbours, support for creative enterprises is very limited! To help the creative sector I upskilled as an adult educator to share my insights with others in Ireland. If they couldn't afford a designer, I could help them learn to design it themselves. I worked with universities and government organisations. I delivered mentoring, ran courses, and managed educational studios. These experiences gave me a deep understanding of how design can drive innovation.
Working with international businesses showed me how good design can shape a business. It also showed me that many great ideas never reach the market. Over time, I wanted to help more businesses bring their ideas to life. That goal led me to web design. It uses the same creative thinking and focus on usability. The difference is that websites go live fast and start helping clients immediately.
The Studio Today
At DesignBurst, I lead a professional design studio in Meath. We work with trusted partners when needed. This lets me deliver polished, high-quality websites for clients who value good design. My clients understand that websites are a strategic tool (not a commodity). They are willing to invest in quality because they breakeven on costs or profit in the long run.
I bring my product design mindset to every project. I combine aesthetics, smart structure, and marketing strategy. The result is a website that works for the business 24/7 and looks great. With a focus on accessibility (A11y) each new design is enjoyable to everyone.
